Cherla sees apprehension of eight Maoist militia members

Police in Bhadrachalam have detained eight members of the CPI (Maoist) party militia in the Tippapuram forest area. The arrest was made during a joint search operation conducted by Cherla police, special party police, and CRPF jawans.

The detained individuals are part of the Kanchala Rasapalli RPC militia committee of the Maoist group. Last year in July, they and other Maoists planted a 12 kg landmine under a BT road that connects the villages of Chennapuram and Gorukonda in Cherla mandal.
