The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a special relief package to help victims affected by the recent floods and heavy rains across the state. This announcement was made by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who outlined financial aid for families, small traders, and other impacted groups.

Families whose houses were completely destroyed by the floods in Vijayawada will receive Rs 25,000 in compensation. Those living on the first floors of flooded buildings will be provided Rs 10,000. Additionally, families with homes that were partially submerged in water will also receive Rs 10,000. Small traders affected by the floods will be given Rs 25,000 to help them recover.

Weavers who were impacted by the disaster will receive Rs 15,000, while those who lost their looms will be compensated with Rs 25,000. Fishermen who suffered damages will get Rs 9,000 for partially damaged fishing nets, and Rs 20,000 will be given to those who lost their boats entirely.

The Chief Minister also discussed insurance claims related to vehicle damages. Over 9,000 claims had been submitted, with Rs 71 crore worth of claims for two-wheelers alone. So far, Rs 6 crore had been disbursed, and an additional 6,000 claims were still pending. To further support vehicle owners, auto-rickshaw owners will receive Rs 10,000 in aid.

For Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), businesses with an annual turnover between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 1.5 crore will receive Rs 1 lakh in financial support. Businesses with a turnover exceeding Rs 1.5 crore will be given Rs 1.5 lakh to help them recover from the impact of the floods.
