Hyderabad: The life of Chakali Ailamma will soon be brought to the stage for the first time through a Kuchipudi dance ballet at Ravindra Bharathi on September 10.
The event is being organized by the Department of Language and Culture. Dr. Alekhya Punjala, the chairperson of the Sangeet Natak Academy, along with her group, will perform the ballet. This special presentation is being held to mark the death anniversary of Chityala Ailamma, a well-known figure from Telangana.
The ballet has been written by poet and lyricist Dr. Vaddepalli Krishna. Dr. Alekhya Punjala has choreographed the performance, and the music is composed by V.B.S. Murali. Dr. Punjala will also take on the main role of Ailamma in the performance.
Dr. Punjala mentioned that this will be her first performance since taking charge as the chairperson of the Sangeet Natak Academy.
