Hyderabad: A Special Invitation for Republic Day Parade
Watching the Republic Day parade is a memorable experience, and witnessing it live at Kartavyapath in New Delhi makes it even more special. This year, the Central government has invited 31 individuals from Telangana to attend this grand event.
Among the invitees are 13-year-old Akarshana Satish and C Santhosh Kumar, both of whom have been recognized for their exceptional contributions. Akarshana, a student at Hyderabad Public School, is attending the event for the second time. Previously, she was praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his “Mann Ki Baat” program for her efforts to promote reading among children. She has set up 18 libraries in Hyderabad and even one in Tamil Nadu, encouraging young minds to embrace the habit of reading.
The 31 invitees hail from various fields, including the PM Yashasvi Scheme, textiles, and rural development, showcasing a wide range of talents and achievements. C Santhosh Kumar, for example, was recognized in 2022 for his water conservation work under Mission Amrit Sarovar. He built a large water reservoir in Warangal that can store up to 10,000 cubic meters of water, helping to address local water needs.
Another notable figure is T N Srinivas, the former chairman of Bowenpally Vegetable Market. He was acknowledged for his innovative project that generates electricity and biofuel from vegetable waste. The project produces about 500 units of electricity and 30 kilograms of biofuel daily, powering streetlights, market stalls, the administrative building, and the water supply network. The biofuel is also used in the market’s kitchen. Additionally, Dhanalokota was appreciated for his dedication to tree planting initiatives.
Santhosh Kumar expressed his excitement about the invitation, saying, “Watching the Republic Day parade from a special VVIP section, alongside the Prime Minister, will be the most memorable and prestigious moment of my life. This opportunity also allows us to explore historical places and deepen our understanding of India’s history.”
Similarly, Akarshana Satish shared her joy, stating, “I’m on cloud nine to be invited for the Republic Day celebrations for the second time. I’m excited to meet outstanding students from across the country. Interacting and sharing ideas with them will help us learn more about life and education in different parts of India.”
