The Governor of Telangana, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, visited Kothagudem and Khammam district on Wednesday. She met with tribals at Bhadrachalam and listened to their appeal over the issue of merging five gram panchayats of Telangana with Andhra Pradesh.
Dr. Soundararajan assured the tribals that she would bring the issue to the notice of the Central government. She acknowledged the problems that the adivasis are facing in the merged gram panchayats and promised to take measures to solve them as soon as possible. The local MLA, Podem Veeraiah, also appealed for her help on the issue.
Earlier in the day, the Governor visited Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Devasthanam in Bhadrachalam and offered prayers. She also attended the Indian Red Cross Society district meet.
