Hyderabad: Several famous personalities from the Telugu film industry and business leaders have come forward to donate to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) of Telangana. Their contributions are meant to support various welfare and relief efforts in the state.
Recently, Telangana was hit hard by severe floods. The heavy rains caused the loss of more than 50 lives, damaged roads, submerged rail tracks, and destroyed thousands of acres of crops. In response, many well-known figures have stepped up to help.
Tollywood megastar Chiranjeevi donated Rs 50 lakh to the fund. He also handed over another Rs 50 lakh on behalf of his son, actor Ram Charan, making their total contribution Rs 1 crore. Chiranjeevi met with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at his residence in Jubilee Hills to personally deliver the two cheques.
Other film stars have also made contributions. Popular comedian Ali and rising Telugu film hero Vishwaksen handed over their donations to the Chief Minister at his residence.
In addition to the film celebrities, business leaders have also shown their support. Former minister and businesswoman Galla Aruna Kumari, representing the Amara Raja Group, donated Rs 1 crore. Former MP and businessman M Rajamohan Reddy also made a contribution to the relief fund.
These donations are expected to help the state in its recovery efforts following the devastating floods.
