Many CBSE-affiliated schools in Hyderabad have allegedly started their new academic session in the second week of March, despite a notice from the CBSE stating that the academic year should commence on April 1. Some parents have claimed that this is a tactic by schools to collect fees. While some schools have restricted classes to value education and personality development, others have begun proper academic sessions. The Hyderabad Schools Parents Association has raised concerns about the risks posed to students who may struggle to keep up with the pace of learning, leading to anxiety and burnout. Despite representations made to officials, no effective measures have been taken. Some parents have also criticized schools for claiming to only take value education classes when they have actually started regular classes without textbooks.
