CASEST Honored with Technovation Award 2024 for Outstanding Skill Development

The Centre for Advanced Studies in Electronics Science and Technology (CASEST) at the School of Physics, University of Hyderabad (UoH), has received the Technovation Award 2024 for its outstanding contribution as a skilling entity. The award was given by the India Electronics Semiconductor Association (IESA) during the Vision Summit 2024. CASEST was recognized for its efforts in enhancing skills through its M.Tech Programs.

CASEST provides hands-on training to students enrolled in its M.Tech programs, particularly in Integrated Circuits Design and Semiconductor Manufacturing Process. Over 150 students from the MTech (Integrated Circuits Technology) and M.Tech (Microelectronics and VLSI) programs have benefited from this specialized training. The training is integrated into the course curriculum and takes place in a state-of-the-art fabrication facility located within the Centre for Nanotechnology of the University.

CASEST was also awarded the Chip2Startup project in 2023 by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. This project grants free access to Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools and development boards, further enhancing the teaching and research programs at CASEST.

Prof. B.J. Rao, Vice Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad, congratulated CASEST for their achievement and emphasized the importance of delivering quality training and education in the rapidly changing ecosystem of the country.
