Cannabis-Laced Sweets and Ice Cream Seized in Hyderabad During Holi

The Excise Enforcement Special Task Force (STF) has discovered the sale of cannabis-laced sweets and ice cream in Hyderabad during Holi celebrations. Authorities are concerned about the rising trend of drug-laced edibles being sold as festive treats.

Based on a tip-off, the STF conducted raids in Malchipura, Lower Dhoolpet. They seized a large quantity of drug-infused food items, including 100 cannabis-laced kulfi ice creams, 72 barfi sweets, and silver-coated balls containing ganja. Officials stated that the raid aimed to stop the illegal distribution of drugs in the city, especially through misleading methods.

The main accused, Satyanarayana Singh, a local kulfi vendor, was allegedly selling these drug-infused treats under the guise of Holi celebrations. Excise officials confirmed that a case has been registered against him for selling narcotic-laced edibles. Authorities have promised strict action against anyone trying to misuse festivals for illegal activities.

Law enforcement agencies have urged the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activity related to drug distribution. Investigations are ongoing to identify others involved in the supply chain and prevent such incidents in the future.
