The Canadian Vice Chief of Army Staff, Major General Peter Scott, expressed his desire to build a military relationship between India and Canada amidst the ongoing diplomatic row. He made this statement while attending the Indo-Pacific Armies chief conference (IPACC) in the national capital.

Scott acknowledged Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s statement but emphasized that his purpose in India was to establish a military-to-military relationship. He stated that the issue between the two nations would be addressed by their respective groups.

Furthermore, Scott expressed his enthusiasm for exchanging ideas and learning from each other during the conference. The event, co-hosted by the Indian Army and the US Army, aims to promote peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region through dialogue and understanding.

The conference, held in Manekshaw Centre, Delhi Cantt, will witness the participation of over 150 delegates in various sessions. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff, attended the opening ceremony. The Army Chiefs conference focuses on discussing mutual interests and areas of cooperation to achieve peace and stability in the region.
