Caller Imran Charged for Defamatory Remarks Against MLA Majid Hussain

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police have registered a case against Congress leader and social media influencer, Imran, also known as Caller Imran. He is accused of making defamatory comments about AIMIM Nampally MLA, Mohammed Majid Hussain, and sharing the content on social media platforms.

The case was filed after a city-based advocate, Mohd Aziz-ur-Rahman, lodged a complaint at the Asif Nagar police station. According to the complaint, a video of Caller Imran asking the Asif Nagar Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) to take action against the MLA went viral on social media.

Aziz-ur-Rahman explained in his complaint that the comments were related to a minor disagreement between Congress leader Feroz Khan and MLA Majid Hussain over road construction work in the Asif Nagar area. He alleged that Imran was trying to create law and order problems and cause tension between the police and the AIMIM MLA.

Additionally, the advocate claimed that the video was uploaded on YouTube with the intention of damaging the MLA’s public image. The police have invoked several legal sections, including Sections 351, 352, 353 (2), and 221 of the BNS, and are currently investigating the case.
