C20 Samajshala Summit attended by GUV in Hyderabad

Sewa International hosted a C20 Samajshala event in Hyderabad with Seva Bharathi Telangana. The event included delegates from Civil Society Organisations (CSO) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) leaders, and it aimed to create a platform for CSOs to voice people’s aspirations to world leaders in the G20. The Chief Guest, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, Governor of Telangana and Lt. Governor of Puducherry, commended the power of community when people from diverse backgrounds come together. India will preside over the G20 presidency for the first time in 2023, leading up to the 75th anniversary of its independence on August 15, 2022.

The Sous Sherpa of G20, DM Kiran, spoke about the networking opportunities that the C20 provides for CSOs around the world. Swami Bodhamayananda, Adhyaksha Ramakrishn Math, Hyderabad emphasised the ethos of Seva, or philanthropy and volunteering with a sense of service, gratitude, and humility. Sewa International’s Director, Swathi Ram, said that the C20 Samajshala will engage different sections of society to spread awareness about volunteerism. The deliberations at these meet-ups will generate the C20 Policy Pack and C20 communique, which will contain policy recommendations launched at the C20 Summit in July 2023. The C20 events in different cities across India are part of the same initiative. Philanthropists, CSOs, social entrepreneurs, academicians, media leaders, and senior social leaders were present at the event.
