Customs officials at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad have seized heroin worth Rs 14.20 crore from a female passenger from Burundi. The passenger arrived from Nairobi on Air Arabia Airways Flight No.G9-458. The officials recovered 2,027 grams of heroin from her baggage, which appeared to be heavier than normal. Upon examination, they found black/clear plastic pouches concealed in the layers of her dresses, handbag, and soaps. The pouches contained brownish white powder, which was identified as heroin. The passenger, aged about 43, has been arrested and sent to judicial custody. The Hyderabad Customs officers are being praised for their diligent and prompt action in this case.
