BRS still unable to reach agreement on candidate for Nalgonda LS seat

BRS leaders in Hyderabad are having trouble deciding on a candidate for the Nalgonda Lok Sabha constituency. Party chief K Chandrashekar Rao asked district leaders to agree on one name before announcing the candidate. Leaders from Nalgonda and Chevella Lok Sabha constituencies met at KCR’s residence, but could not agree on a candidate for the Nalgonda LS segment.

Former minister G Jagadish Reddy’s group proposed two names for the Nalgonda seat: Tera Chinnapa Reddy and Kancharla Krishna Reddy. Industrialist-turned politician Chinrappa Reddy is also vying for the LS seat with the support of Jagadish Reddy. Gutha Sukhender Reddy’s son, Amit, is hoping for a ticket, but Jagadish Reddy seems to have prevented this by acting quickly. Amit is now considering joining the Congress party.

In Chevella, the BRS party is likely to give the ticket to Kasani Gnaneshwar Mudiraj, who joined the party after leaving Telugu Desam during the Telangana Assembly elections. There is speculation that Gnaneshwar’s son, Veeresh, may also receive a ticket. However, party leaders may choose to go with a more senior leader instead of Veeresh.

Initially, MP G Ranjith Reddy was announced as the candidate for Chevella, but he is not interested in running. The party has already lost senior leader Patnam Mahender Reddy to the Congress party, along with his wife, ZP chairperson Sunita Mahender Reddy, who will be the Congress candidate.
