Hyderabad: The Green India Challenge is aiming to set a record by planting saplings on the birthday of BRS leader K. Chandrashekhar Rao today.
The entire BRS party members and various organizations have been invited to take part in a large-scale plantation drive called ‘Vriksharchana’ across the state.
Apart from this, BRS has already planned activities such as blood donation camps, food distribution for the needy, and other welfare programs. As part of the celebrations, the Green India Challenge (GIC) has taken the initiative to plant trees in honor of KCR’s birthday.
Santosh Kumar, the founder of Green India Challenge and a former MP, has already participated in plantation drives in different parts of the state. He has encouraged people from all backgrounds to plant three saplings at their homes, parks, balconies, or any suitable place.
People are also invited to take selfies with their planted saplings and send them via WhatsApp to 9000365000. Once they send the pictures, they will receive a message with a link to download an app. After uploading their selfies on the app, GIC officials will share them on their official social media pages, according to representatives Raghava and Karunakar Reddy.
