BRS leaders flock to Congress in mass exodus

In Hyderabad, many BRS leaders are leaving to join the ruling Congress party. Former minister P Mahendar Reddy, his wife Sunitha Reddy, former GHMC Mayor B Rammohan, and K Chandrashekhar Reddy, who is Allu Arjun’s father-in-law, all joined the Congress in the presence of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

Accompanied by supporters, Prof Ramana Naik also left the BRS to join the Congress. Before meeting the CM, these leaders met with Telangana Congress in-charge Deepa Dasmunshi and received party scarves.

According to Deepa Dasmunshi, more opposition leaders are expected to join the Congress after the Election Commission announces the Lok Sabha election schedule. Revanth Reddy, also the TPCC president, is working on a strategy to attract senior BRS leaders, MLAs, and MPs before the elections.

Revanth has been holding secret talks with some senior BRS leaders to bring them into the party. Congress is especially focusing on North Telangana districts where it is not as strong, aiming to counter the growth of BJP and weaken the BRS there.

Some sitting MLAs from old Medak district have already met with Revanth, and BRS MP Venkatesh joined the Congress in New Delhi recently.
