BRS Leader Criticizes Government Over Neglect of Paddy Farmers
Jogulamba Gadwal: BRS Party leader Basu Hanumanthu Naidu has criticized the state government for neglecting the challenges faced by paddy farmers. On Friday, Naidu visited a paddy procurement center in Gattu Mandal, where he interacted with farmers and listened to their concerns.
During his visit, Naidu expressed dissatisfaction with the Public Distribution System (PDS). He stated that it has failed to procure paddy on time and make timely payments to farmers. He urged the government to take full responsibility for the difficulties faced by the farming community.
Naidu highlighted the proactive implementation of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) under the BRS regime, contrasting it with the inefficiencies under the Congress-led government. He noted that farmers have been forced to sell their produce at lower prices due to delays and the absence of fair market opportunities.
The BRS leader also referred to a recent promise made by the Congress Chief Minister in Maharashtra, who announced a ₹500 bonus for paddy crops. He questioned why the Congress-led government in Telangana has not made similar commitments to support farmers.
“I challenge Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to make the same promise to the farmers of Telangana,” Naidu said.
The event was attended by several leaders, including Sri Ramulu, TRS Venkatesh, Pacharla Srinivasulu, and other BRSV district leaders such as Mala Mallikarjun, Basu Gopal, and S. Ramu Naidu. Party activists and youth members were also present.
The visit concluded with a call for the government to ensure fair MSP and timely payments to safeguard the interests of paddy farmers.
