Warangal: Former MLA Nannapuneni Narender criticized the Congress government, saying it is struggling to fulfill the promises that helped it come to power. He highlighted that the government had made unrealistic promises and is now finding it difficult to deliver on them.

Narender praised BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao for his efforts during the public hearing of the Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC). He noted that Rama Rao successfully stopped the State Government’s proposal to increase electricity tariffs. Narender and his party celebrated this achievement in Warangal on Wednesday.

Narender explained that the Congress Government’s plan would have increased power tariffs by Rs 18,500 crore, which would have heavily impacted poor and middle-class families. With the prices of essential items already rising, he said that a hike in electricity rates would have made life even harder for ordinary people.

He also praised former Chief Minister KCR, saying that during BRS’s 10 years in power, the party had never raised electricity rates. Narender emphasized that BRS will continue to oppose Congress’ policies that harm the people and will push the government to fulfill the promises it made during the election.

Narender accused the Congress Government of diverting attention from its failures instead of focusing on the welfare of the people. He assured that BRS, as a major opposition party, will expose the government’s shortcomings and remind it of its responsibility to the people.

After the event, Narender and other BRS members distributed sweets to the public in celebration. Several notable party members, including Enumamula Market Yard’s former chairmen Diddi Kumaraswamy and T. Ramesh Babu, as well as former Corporator Kundarapu Rajender, were present at the celebration.
