BRS leaders in Hyderabad criticized the Congress party for not decorating the premises with a 125-foot statue of Dr. BR Ambedkar, who gave the Constitution to India. They held a press conference at Telangana Bhavan to express their concerns.
Senior leader B Suman questioned why a committee was not formed to organize Ambedkar Jayanthi and why the statue was not decorated. He demanded an apology from the Congress government for this oversight. Suman also accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of neglecting the celebrations at the Ambedkar statue due to political reasons.
Former chairman of Telangana Foods, M Rajeev Sagar, pointed out that for the first time since Telangana’s formation, no committee was formed to organize Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations. This was a departure from past traditions where celebrations were held in all mandal and district headquarters.
Another leader, Errolla Srinivas, criticized the CM and the Congress government for not garlanding Ambedkar’s statue on his birth anniversary. He called for immediate action against officials responsible for this negligence. Srinivas highlighted the importance of honoring Ambedkar’s contributions, especially in the context of Telangana’s history and the installation of a 125-foot statue in his honor.
