Hanamkonda: More Leaders Join Congress, Weakening BRS
As predicted by Hans India, more political leaders are joining the Congress party, increasing its strength.
Former minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, who has been active in politics for forty years, is facing setbacks. Local MLA Yasaswini and in-charge Jhansi Reddy are focused on bringing many BRS leaders into Congress. Their goal is to dominate the region politically.
Several followers of Errabelli have already left the BRS and joined Congress. On Sunday, senior BRS leader and former ZP co-option member MD Madhar switched to Congress. He joined the party in Hyderabad, in the presence of Palakurthi constituency in-charge Jhansi Rajender Reddy.
The wave continued on Monday, when senior leader Billa Sudheer Reddy and farmers’ coordinator Akula Surender Rao also left BRS. They, along with their supporters, officially joined Congress at Gandhi Bhavan. MLA Yasaswini Jhansi Reddy led the event, and former MP as well as TPCC working president Azharuddin welcomed them by draping them with party scarves.
Speaking at the event, Sudheer Reddy criticized the BRS, claiming it had become corrupt in Palakurthi. He accused Dayakar Rao of deceiving the public and betraying his own trusted leaders. He said he was happy to join Congress after seeing the development efforts led by MLA Yasaswini Reddy and Jhansi Rajender Reddy.
Sudheer Reddy promised to work hard for Congress and support its growth. Azharuddin stated that under Yasaswini Jhansi Reddy’s leadership, the party would continue to strengthen in the region.
