BJYM condemns State government's crackdown on peaceful demonstrations

The BJYM State president Savella Mahender criticized the State government for unfairly handling peaceful protests by unemployed individuals outside the Public Service Commission office. He believes the government’s actions show a lack of sincerity and capability. The government has been making illegal arrests in response to demands such as increasing job opportunities and releasing job calendars.

Mahender condemned the use of force and imprisonment of BJYM activists and demanded their immediate release. He expressed disapproval of the government’s threats to file criminal cases against protesters and promised to seek action from the Human Rights Commission against those responsible for illegal actions. He warned the government that people have the power and governments are temporary.

The BJYM is advocating for the fulfillment of promises made to unemployed individuals before the Assembly elections. They are demanding the implementation of job creation initiatives and are prepared to mobilize 30 lakh unemployed individuals in the State if necessary. Mahender cautioned the government that suppressing student and unemployed movements will only lead to further growth in opposition.

Protests by unemployed individuals have been organized by the BJYM in various districts across the state. Mahender announced plans to file a complaint against the government’s harsh treatment of unemployed individuals with the Governor.
