Hyderabad: Dr. K Laxman, who is the national president of the BJP’s OBC Morcha, has been given a new responsibility. He has been appointed as the National Returning Officer to oversee the party’s organisational elections across the country.
On Tuesday, other party leaders were also given important roles. Sambit Patra, Naresh Bansal, and Rekha Verma were made National Co-Returning Officers. These appointments were approved by BJP’s national president, JP Nadda.
The decision to appoint these leaders was made by the party’s national executive committee. This committee will manage the organisational elections until a new party president is elected.
State BJP chief and Union Minister, G Kishan Reddy, shared more details. He said that the elections will be held after the current membership drive ends in December.
The elections will start at the most local level, beginning with the mandal (block) and district, moving up to the state level, and finally, the national level. This means they will elect leaders from the booth level all the way up to the national president.
