BJP MLA Files Complaint Against Illegal Land Encroachments in Hyderabad
Kamareddy BJP MLA, Venkataramana Reddy, has filed a formal complaint with HYDRA Commissioner, Ranganath. He accused five real estate companies of illegal constructions and encroachments on water bodies in Hyderabad.
After meeting with Commissioner Ranganath at the HYDRA office, Reddy spoke to the media. He claimed that these companies have been seizing lakes and constructing unauthorized buildings. The MLA said he had raised this issue two months ago but criticized the government for not taking any action despite having clear evidence.
Reddy also targeted Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Deputy Chief Minister. He accused them of lacking the will to act against the encroachments. “Ten days after I raised the matter, the CM said the government would not interfere with constructions that have permissions. Who granted these permissions, and why is no action being taken?” he questioned.
The MLA vowed to raise this issue in the Legislative Assembly. He demanded strict action against officials and ministers involved in granting illegal permissions. Additionally, Reddy called for the creation of a new “Land Grabbing Act” to prevent further encroachments and ensure accountability.
Reddy warned the government of a public backlash if immediate reforms are not introduced. “If the government fails to act, we will take this matter to court. People will hold the leaders accountable. Protecting public resources is more important than the real estate sector’s interests,” he stated.
The BJP leader urged the authorities to take swift action against the five companies and the officials supporting them. He also emphasized the need for stronger laws to protect land and water bodies from future encroachments.
