Rangareddy: Eatala Rajender, the BJP Telangana State election management committee chairman and MLA, criticized Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for not supporting tenant farmers in the state. He accused KCR of prioritizing farmers from Punjab and Haryana over those in Telangana. Rajender made these remarks during the celebration of the program dedicated to the nation, where 1.25 lakh PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras were unveiled.
During his speech, Rajender praised the newly dedicated PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras, which will provide essential services to farmers such as soil testing, agricultural tools, and information on government schemes. He also applauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative, stating that these centers would benefit millions of farmers across the country.
However, Rajender criticized the State government’s approach towards schemes like the Fasal Bhima Yojana, which provides insurance coverage for crop losses. He alleged that the government failed to provide the State’s share for the scheme, leaving farmers without adequate compensation and vulnerable to losses. This lack of support has led to distress among farmers and unfortunate cases of suicide.
The BJP leader also questioned the effectiveness of the Rythu Bandhu scheme introduced by the Telangana government. He accused KCR of taking from one hand while claiming to give with the other. Despite claims of providing financial support to farmers, the government has removed subsidies on various agricultural implements, causing many farmers to struggle with rising costs.
Rajender also highlighted the challenges faced by farmers due to the pandemic and geopolitical issues in Ukraine, which have led to increasing fertilizer prices. However, he assured that the central government would continue to provide subsidies to ensure that the costs remain manageable for farmers.
