Hyderabad: BJP Mahila Morcha State president Dr. Shilpa Reddy criticized the Congress-led state government for neglecting women in the State Budget for 2024-25. She expressed her disappointment on Friday, stating that Telangana women were treated unfairly in the budget.
Dr. Reddy warned that if the promises made to women are not fulfilled, the BJP State Mahila Morcha would organize a large-scale protest at Ambedkar Chowrasta, near the Telugu Talli flyover.
She highlighted that the guarantees given to women were not reflected in the budget. There was no mention of when the promised Rs 4,000 pension would be provided. Additionally, the budget did not address the implementation of the Rs 2,500 assistance under the Mahalakshmi scheme for every woman in the state. There was also no mention of providing Scooties and Rs 5 lakh Bharosa cards for female students.
Dr. Reddy questioned whether Congress MP Sonia Gandhi and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, who promised these benefits to women before the elections, would answer for the unfulfilled promises. She also asked if the women ministers in the government would provide answers.
