BJP Leaders Protest for Immediate Opening of Alampur Area Hospital
Former Jogulamba Gadwal District BJP President, S. Ramachandra Reddy, led a protest today at the 100-bed Area Hospital near Alampur X Road. The protest was held to demand the immediate opening of the hospital, which was inaugurated on October 5, 2023, but remains non-functional.
During his speech, Ramachandra Reddy criticized the state government for neglecting the ₹30 crore hospital. He pointed out that although the hospital requires 120 staff members, it currently has only a watchman and no doctors. He emphasized that this is the only area hospital in the Alampur constituency, yet it is unable to provide medical services to the public.
Reddy also highlighted the importance of the hospital due to the NH-44 highway passing through the region. He explained that frequent accidents occur on this highway, making emergency medical care essential. However, since the hospital is not operational, patients are forced to travel to Kurnool for treatment, where they often struggle to receive proper care.
He demanded that the state government take immediate action and make the hospital fully operational by April 15, 2025. He warned that if the government fails to act, BJP leaders and local residents will intensify their protest until their demands are met. He also urged the local MP, MLA, and MLC to intervene and ensure the hospital’s opening as soon as possible.

Several BJP leaders took part in the protest, including Rajagopal, who contested as an MLA from Alampur, and Rajasekhar Sharma, the State BJYM Vice President. Other key participants included:

In addition, several BJP activists such as Rajasekhar, Madhuravani, Jaganmohan Reddy, Sudhakar Yadav, Ravikumar, Dana Reddy, Das Narasimha, Sai Baba, Mallikarjun, Raghavendra, Lakshminarayana, Thimmappa, Upender, Gopi, and Balakrishna also joined the protest to show their support for the cause.
Public Demand for Immediate Action
The protest reflects the growing frustration of local residents, who have been waiting for the hospital to start functioning. BJP leaders have vowed to continue their struggle until the hospital is fully operational. They believe that the facility is crucial for providing proper healthcare services to the people of the Alampur constituency.
