BJP intensifies its campaign against Congress over farmers' issues

In Hyderabad, BJP state vice-president NVVS Prabhakar and former MP Dr Boora Narsaiah Goud criticized the Congress party and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for failing farmers with false promises, claiming the agriculture sector in the state is in crisis.

Prabhakar stated that the government has not supported farmers adequately, leading to a decrease in crop area and yield. He also mentioned increased power cuts for agriculture, lack of water in canals, and failure to compensate for crop damage due to weather issues.

Additionally, Prabhakar pointed out that despite increasing grain piles, farmers struggle to sell their produce as procurement centers are closed. He criticized the delay in fulfilling promises like farm loan waivers and Rythu Bandhu funds.

Regarding CM Revanth Reddy’s proposal for a new “Rythu Corporation,” Prabhakar raised concerns about the state government exceeding financial limits and hindering farmer cooperatives. He called for urgent meetings to address farmer issues.

Dr Boora Narsaiah Goud emphasized the importance of implementing promises without invoking religious oaths. He highlighted delays in bonus payments for rice farmers and criticized a new condition favoring fine rice over coarse rice cultivation in Telangana.
