BJP Leader Shilpa Reddy Visits MMTS Train Assault Victim

BJP Telangana State Mahila Morcha President, Dr. Shilpa Reddy, has expressed deep concern over the attempted rape of a young woman in an MMTS train in Hyderabad. Initially, the victim was admitted to Gandhi Hospital. However, following the directions of Union Minister G Kishan Reddy and the intervention of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar, she was later shifted to a private hospital for better treatment.

Upon learning about the incident, Kishan Reddy instructed the BJP Mahila Morcha to support the victim. Similarly, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, BJP Minister of State for Home Affairs, spoke to the victim’s family over the phone. He inquired about the medical services provided at Gandhi Hospital and was informed that there was a serious delay in treatment. The family expressed frustration that political leaders were only offering consultations rather than taking real action to ensure justice.

In response, Bandi Sanjay Kumar took immediate steps to provide better medical care for the victim. He assured that the BJP would stand by her until justice was served. He also spoke to Shilpa Reddy and suggested shifting the victim to Yashoda Hospital for advanced treatment.

Shilpa Reddy expressed concern over the increasing crimes against women in Telangana. She questioned the safety of women in public transport, asking whether there were enough security measures in place. She also raised concerns about the effectiveness of She Teams, Shakti police, and women’s protection departments, questioning their role beyond election periods. She further demanded transparency regarding funds allocated for women’s safety and criticized the government for not enforcing stricter punishments for rape cases.

She urged the government to establish special security units at railway stations, bus stations, and metro stations across the state. She also called for fast-track courts to resolve rape cases within six months and emphasized the need for strict punishments for offenders.
