BJP Leader Joins Protest Against Ethanol Factory in Jogulamba Gadwal
A protest is ongoing near the proposed ethanol factory site at Peddadhanwada outskirts in Rajoli Mandal, Jogulamba Gadwal district. BJP District President S. Ramachandra Reddy has extended his support to the farmers and demanded the cancellation of the factory’s approval.
At the event, Ramachandra Reddy accused authorities and the factory management of collaborating to secure permissions through false information. He claimed that several mandatory regulations had been ignored in the approval process.
Reddy pointed out the following violations:
– Villages should not exist within a 10 km radius of the factory.
– The site should not have nearby roads.
– The land must not be suitable for agriculture.
– Approvals from local village panchayats are required.
He alleged that none of these conditions were met, and the permission for the factory was obtained illegally. Despite these violations, construction on the site has been ongoing for the past four months.
The BJP leader assured farmers that the party would fully support their cause and oppose the project. He promised that the BJP would work to ensure justice for the affected farmers.
Reddy also mentioned that Palamuru BJP MP D.K. Aruna had already raised the issue with government officials. He revealed that the BJP plans to escalate the matter to the Chief Minister, demanding the revocation of the factory’s approval, similar to a previous case in the Nirmal district.
Prominent BJP leaders, including Sanjeeva Reddy, Shashi Kumar, E. Anjaneyulu, Lakshman Goud, and others, were present to support the protest. Reddy reiterated the party’s commitment to standing firmly with the farmers until the issue is resolved.
