BJP Supports SSA Employees' Strike for Job Regularization in Gadwal

The district BJP president, Ramachandra Reddy, along with other BJP leaders, has extended their full support to the ongoing strike by Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) employees in Gadwal. The employees are demanding the regularization of their jobs, a key issue they have been fighting for.

The protest, which entered its third day, was held at Rajiv Marg in Gadwal district headquarters. Mahabubnagar MP DK Aruna joined the striking SSA contract employees, expressing solidarity with their cause. Several BJP leaders also participated, voicing their support and calling for immediate action.

Speaking at the protest, Ramachandra Reddy emphasized that the demands of the SSA contract employees are entirely justified. He explained that the central government already provides 60% of the funding for SSA, and if the state government contributes the remaining 40%, the employees’ jobs could be regularized. He also criticized the Congress party for failing to deliver on its promises to the SSA employees.

Reddy reminded the crowd of a promise made by Congress leader Revanth Reddy during last year’s SSA strike. At the time, Revanth had assured that all issues would be resolved if Congress came to power. However, even after a year of Congress rule, the promises remain unfulfilled, leaving employees disheartened.

The BJP leader demanded immediate regularization of SSA employees and outlined several benefits they should receive, including:
– ₹20 lakh under accident insurance
– ₹5 lakh under health insurance
– Six months of maternity leave
– ₹15 lakh under terminal benefits

Reddy warned that the BJP would continue to raise these issues and fight for the employees’ rights if the government failed to act.

Several prominent BJP leaders attended the protest to show their support. These included district general secretary Ravikumar Ekbote, district vice president Rajaka Narasimha, former assembly convenor Ramanjaneyaulu, former assembly contestant Baligera Shiva Reddy, OBC Morcha president Devadasu, IT Cell co-convenor Chittari Kiran, and others.

The protest by SSA employees highlights a pressing issue of job insecurity and unmet promises in the education sector. BJP’s involvement, led by Ramachandra Reddy, has brought significant political attention to the matter. Reddy’s remarks on central and state funding dynamics and his criticism of Congress’s inaction point to the political undertones of the protest.

In addition to supporting the employees, the BJP has called for comprehensive welfare measures, such as accident insurance, health coverage, maternity leave, and terminal benefits, to address the broader needs of SSA contract workers.

While the BJP’s solidarity has energized the movement, it remains uncertain whether this political backing will lead to tangible outcomes for the employees. The protest serves as a reminder of the need for policymakers to address the grievances of SSA employees and ensure job security and fairness in the education sector.
