Telangana Deputy CM Requests Funds from Centre

Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, has urged the Central government to release funds to support the state’s financial situation.

During a meeting with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at her residence in New Delhi, he requested the restructuring of debts of various corporations and Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs). He also asked for guidelines to be issued to financial institutions regarding this matter.

Bhatti pressed for the repayment of ₹4,08,48,54,461, which is due to the Telangana government. He also sought a special relief fund for the backward districts of Telangana under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014. Additionally, he pointed out an allocation error in Centrally sponsored schemes for the financial year 2014-15 and requested its correction.

Another key request was the refund of ₹208.24 crore under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014. Bhatti also asked for the settlement of pending dues between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana power utilities, including dues from Andhra Pradesh Power Finance Corporation to Telangana Power Finance Corporation.

The Deputy Chief Minister was accompanied by Special Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Resident Commissioner Gaurav Uppal, and Members of Parliament Mallu Ravi, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Balaram Nayak, among others.
