Heavy rains have caused the Godavari river to rise above the second level warning mark at Bhadrachalam in Khammam. At 7pm, the water level was recorded at 47.3 feet, which is higher than the level at 3pm. Officials are concerned that it may reach and surpass 48 feet, triggering the second warning level. If it reaches 53 feet, the situation will become dangerous. Many streams in the area are overflowing due to the torrential rains.

District Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar has been informed about the situation and has ordered officials to start rescue and relief operations immediately. The officials have been instructed to evacuate people from low-lying areas and ensure their safety. District Collector Dr Priyanka Ala said that they are closely monitoring the situation and preparing for any possible emergencies. They have set up control rooms at the collectorate to provide assistance to those in need. Emergency numbers have also been provided for people to call for help.
