Gadwal: District Collector B M Santosh stressed the importance of bankers and officials working together to meet targets. He said it’s important to make sure loans are given in all sectors according to the set goals. This was discussed during the District-Level Bankers Coordination Meeting (DCC/DLRC) held on Wednesday.
The Collector asked bankers to quickly approve new crop loans for farmers whose old loans had been waived. He also encouraged them to provide loans to poor people who qualify, especially in areas like farming, setting up livelihood units, education, housing, and other important sectors. He further instructed that pending Utilization Certificates (UCs) be cleared immediately, and new loans be given to students from SC communities. He also emphasized the need for timely repayment of loans.
By the end of June, 16.82% of loans had been given to priority sectors, while 30% went to non-priority sectors. The Collector urged bankers to continue providing loans in all areas.
Additionally, the District Collector approved the setting up of 100 Common Service Centers (CSCs) in Jogulamba Gadwal district. These centers aim to create jobs for 100 unemployed youth. He also unveiled a poster related to this initiative, alongside the bankers.
