Bandi Sanjay urges Telangana government to initiate CVC investigation into Amrut scheme execution

Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, has criticized both the Congress and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for what he called a “match-fixing drama” regarding the implementation of the ‘Amrut Scheme’ in Telangana. He accused both parties of blaming each other for corruption in an attempt to divert the public’s attention.

On Monday, Sanjay Kumar argued that if there is any corruption relating to the scheme, it should be investigated by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). He said the Amrut Scheme, introduced by the central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was meant to improve infrastructure in cities across India. However, he alleged that both the previous BRS government and the current Congress government were involved in large-scale corruption, preventing the benefits of the scheme from reaching the people.

According to Sanjay Kumar, both parties are playing a blame game. He explained that the BRS accuses the Congress of corruption by awarding contracts to specific individuals. In response, the Congress accuses the former BRS government of similar corrupt practices. He claimed that this back-and-forth was simply a spectacle to distract people from the Congress’s failure to fulfill its six promises.

Sanjay Kumar further alleged that both parties have engaged in corruption by awarding contracts to favored individuals and taking large commissions. He emphasized the need for the Central Vigilance Commission to investigate the implementation of the Amrut Scheme in Telangana to expose the truth behind these allegations.

He urged the Telangana state government to send a formal request to the CVC to investigate the corruption surrounding the scheme. Sanjay Kumar also promised that if the state government sends the request, he would personally push for the investigation in his capacity as Minister of State for Home Affairs.

Additionally, Sanjay Kumar challenged the Congress government to prove that the scheme is being implemented fairly in Telangana. He said that if the Congress truly believes there is no corruption, it should immediately write to the CVC for a probe. If it fails to do so, he implied that the Congress would also be seen as corrupt.
