Hyderabad: BJP leader Bandi Sanjay has criticized the Telangana government’s recent decision to give fine rice to ration cardholders. He said that the rice is actually being paid for by the central government, not the state.
According to Bandi Sanjay, the Centre is spending ₹40 for each kilogram of rice. He said the state government should make sure that people receive good-quality rice. “They say they are giving fine rice, but it’s the Centre that’s paying for it,” he added.
He also demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photo be printed on ration cards to show the Centre’s role in the scheme. His statements have added to the ongoing political debate in Telangana about how welfare schemes are managed and who gets credit for them.
