BJP national general secretary and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar criticized the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) led by K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) for allegedly engaging in phone tapping activities that he deemed worse than the Emergency period. He accused KCR of violating Constitutional and human rights by tapping the phones of BJP leaders and followers.
Sanjay Kumar claimed that KCR’s actions were driven by fear of the BJP, and he accused KCR of orchestrating the tapping to protect his daughter who was implicated in a Liquor Scam. Sanjay Kumar called for the prosecution and removal of all BRS party members involved in the phone tapping scandal, including KCR.
He demanded immediate action against KCR and urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to request a detailed investigation by the CBI. Sanjay Kumar also called for KCR to be declared unfit for his position as an MLA.
Reports indicate that former Deputy Commissioner of Police P Radhakishan Rao confessed to illegally tapping phones of politicians and activists under instructions from T Prabhakar Rao, the former chief of the Telangana Special Intelligence Bureau. The targets of the tapping reportedly included high-profile individuals who were perceived as threats to the BRS government.
