Bandi Sanjay accuses Congress of pushing Telangana toward a Sri Lanka-like crisis

Bandi Sanjay Kumar Criticizes Congress for Telangana’s Debt and Governance Issues

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, has accused the ruling Congress party of pushing Telangana into chaos and corruption. He compared the state’s situation to Sri Lanka, claiming that lawlessness is increasing under Congress rule.

Speaking on Sunday, Sanjay alleged that the state government has borrowed ₹1.5 lakh crore in just 15 months, creating a heavy financial burden on the people. He warned that if this trend continues, Telangana’s debt could reach ₹10 lakh crore. He also criticized Congress leaders for holding meetings to improve their public image, comparing them to “Tablighi Jamaat.”

Sanjay stated that the government’s reputation would improve only if it fulfills its six guarantees. These promises include farmer assistance under Rythu Bharosa, farm loan waivers, and financial support for women, such as gold, scooters, and ₹2,500 per month. He insisted that only corruption-free governance can enhance the government’s image, while focusing only on publicity without addressing real issues would be pointless.

The BJP leader also condemned the state government for auctioning public lands to repay debts. He specifically mentioned the sale of 400 acres of Hyderabad Central University land, saying this would harm future generations. Additionally, he accused the government of demanding a 20% commission from contractors. He claimed that the central government is providing substantial funds for Telangana’s development and that village improvements are due to these funds, not state efforts.

Challenging the state government’s claims, he questioned, “If everything is given by the Centre, why are they here? Get out. We will demonstrate how to develop Telangana with a double-engine government.”

Sanjay promised that the BJP would reveal details of central funds allocated to Telangana’s villages. He said pamphlets and banners would be distributed to inform people about the Centre’s contributions. He also accused the BRS and Congress of working together to damage the BJP’s image, predicting they would join forces in the upcoming elections.

He concluded by declaring that the BJP would hold Congress and BRS accountable once it comes to power. “There is no question of letting Congress and BRS go unpunished. We will settle their accounts,” he asserted.
