The Telangana High Court has fined Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar Rs. 50,000 for not showing up to have his evidence recorded by the advocate commissioner. The MP had filed a petition challenging the election of Minister Gangula Kamalakar in 2018. On July 10, the judge appointed a retired district judge as the advocate commissioner to record witness statements. Bandi was unable to attend due to parliamentary sessions, official engagements, and being out of the country. The MP’s counsel asked for adjournments on July 10, 21, 31, August 21, and September 5. The judge ordered Bandi to appear before the advocate commissioner and postponed the petition until September 29.
