Bachupally residents protest against toxic gas emissions

Residents of Bachupally gathered on Sunday to protest against industrial pollution in their area. Chanting slogans like “PCB ko Jagao, Pollution Bhagao,” they demanded urgent action from the Pollution Control Board (PCB). Many residents reported health problems such as burning eyes and breathing difficulties due to hazardous gas emissions from nearby industries.

The protesters carried placards with messages like “No more toxic air,” “If you don’t kill pollution, it will kill you,” and “Pollution-free air is our birthright.” Even children joined the protest, highlighting the seriousness of the issue.

Residents complained that for the past few weeks, the pollution had worsened, making daily life difficult. The thick smoke and strong odor from nearby industries were affecting their health. Despite repeated complaints to the Telangana Pollution Control Board (TGPCB), no action had been taken. Frustrated with the inaction, they planned to hold more protests until their concerns were addressed.

“We used to experience this foul smell occasionally, but now it is a daily problem,” said Surendra, a resident. “The smoke is so thick that we can even see it in the dark. We have complained many times, but the authorities are not listening, so we decided to protest.”

Another resident, Sai Teja, expressed disappointment with the PCB’s response. “It seems like the PCB is not interested in solving this issue. We are struggling to live in these conditions, and many of us are forced to stay indoors. We will continue protesting until action is taken,” he said.

The residents hope that their continuous efforts will push the authorities to take strict action against polluting industries and ensure clean air for their community.
