All 14 gates of the Babli project, located in Maharashtra above the Sri Ramsagar Project (SRSP), were lifted on Monday in accordance with Supreme Court orders. The gates will remain open until October 28.
Central Water Commission (CWC) officials, along with irrigation officials from Telangana and Maharashtra, were present for the gate opening. The project is currently receiving 0.2 TMC of water inflows at the Medigadda project station. To ensure smooth flow of water, officials have already started temporary works at Medigadda.
The gates of the Babli project were lifted as per the Supreme Court’s directive, with the aim of regulating water flow until the specified date. This decision was made in collaboration with officials from both Telangana and Maharashtra, to ensure proper management of water resources.
