October 28 Deadline for Water Release
Mendoro/Basar, July 1: The gates of the Babli project, constructed on the Godavari River in Maharashtra, were opened on Saturday. As per the orders of the Supreme Court, members of the tripartite committee, including SEBEE EE Venkateswarlu, DEE Prajit, EE Bansod, DEE RR Patodar, SRE SP Chakrapani, and AEE Vanshi Adhvaryam, inspected the Babli gates.
Currently, 0.473 TMC (thousand million cubic feet) of water is being released into the Godavari River. This water is being diverted to the Triveni Sangam area near Kandakurthi in the Range Mandals of Telangana. The Babli gates will be opened until October 28, according to ES Chakrapani. The water level in the Sri Ram Sagar project is currently at 1,091.00 feet (90.313 TMC), while on Saturday evening it was recorded at 1,064.90 feet (20.068 TMC) according to SER SP officials.
