Suspended ACP Criticises Actor Allu Arjun, Faces Disciplinary Action

In Hyderabad, suspended ACP Vishnu Murthy made sharp remarks against actor Allu Arjun following the actor’s critical comments about the police. The ACP accused Allu Arjun of lacking a basic understanding of the law and warned him against tarnishing the reputation of the police force.

Vishnu Murthy stated, “Reels will be cut,” implying that the actor’s actions were under close scrutiny. He clarified that the court had not dismissed the legal case against Allu Arjun but had only granted him interim bail. He reminded the actor to obey the law and not assume that interim bail absolves him of responsibility.

The ACP also criticised Allu Arjun’s movies, urging the actor to work on projects that contribute positively to society instead of promoting what he called “toxic” films. He condemned the portrayal of police officers in Arjun’s blockbuster film Pushpa, claiming it disrespected the police force. “Does he want to replicate the same disrespect in real life? Our police are worried about this issue instead of focusing on their duties,” Vishnu remarked.

Additionally, Vishnu Murthy alleged that the actor resides on government-leased land and warned him against making inflammatory statements. “Don’t insult or threaten the police. We won’t sit quietly. If needed, we will go to the public and expose the truth about you,” he said. The ACP concluded by emphasizing that the police department is committed to maintaining law and order, especially during the ongoing assembly sessions, rather than engaging with Arjun’s controversies. The public’s reaction to the ACP’s comments has been divided.

Meanwhile, Akshansh Yadav, DCP Central Zone, issued a statement announcing that a report against Vishnu Murthy would be forwarded to the Director General of Police (DGP) for disciplinary action. The DGP’s office will investigate the matter and take appropriate steps.

According to the DCP, Vishnu Murthy conducted a press conference at the Press Club in Somajiguda without prior permission from senior authorities. The ACP, who was previously serving as DSP Task Force in Nizamabad, had been attached to the DGP office following allegations against him and was subsequently suspended in October 2024.

“This action is a clear violation of disciplinary norms,” the DCP stated. He emphasized that such behavior would not be tolerated, and necessary disciplinary measures will be taken against officers who violate conduct rules.
