Hyderabad: The New Modified Goods (NMG) rakes were used to load vehicles at Balanagar railway station, which falls under the Hyderabad division. NMG rakes are specially modified passenger coaches designed for transporting different kinds of vehicles. These include cars, motorcycles, scooters, and light commercial vehicles.
NMG rakes play an important role in India’s freight network. They help support the growing automobile industry by offering a cost-effective and efficient way to transport vehicles.
On Thursday, electric autos were loaded onto NMG rakes at the Balanagar goods shed. These vehicles traveled a distance of 1,770 km from Balanagar station in Hyderabad to Bijwasan station in Delhi, under Northern Railway. This transportation generated a revenue of Rs 17.5 lakh.
KETO Motors, a company with a plant in Rajpur village near Jadcherla, organized the transportation of these electric autos. The company plans to transport more vehicles from Balanagar station, with six to seven more rakes expected to be loaded in the coming days.
