Two young children were seen begging for food near the bus stand arch in Nagarkurnool on Thursday morning. The distressing sight was captured and shared by The Hans India website, which touched the hearts of many locals.
As the news spread on social media, it caught the attention of District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) Srisailam. He quickly took action to help the children.
A rescue team, including Child Helpline 1098 Supervisor Suresh, Counselor Yashwant Kumar, and DCPU Unit officers Raj Kumar and Venugopal, launched a search operation in Nagarkurnool. After three hours of searching, they successfully found and rescued the children.
The officials gathered details about the children and safely reunited them with their parents. The Bala Rakshaka Bhavan authorities also provided counselling sessions for both the children and their parents.
Additionally, the officials confirmed that the children would start attending school from the next day. DCPO Srisailam urged the public to report any emergencies involving children by calling Child Helpline 1098 immediately.
