Former MLA Jalagam Venkat Rao, who is a leader of the BRS party, has submitted a High Court order to the Telangana State Assembly Secretary. He has requested the Secretary to take the court’s judgement into consideration, as it is in his favor.
On Tuesday, the High Court disqualified BRS MLA Vanama Venkatateswara Rao from Kothagudem. This decision was made because Vanama did not provide accurate information about his assets and those of his family members. Jalagam Venkat Rao filed a petition against Vanama with evidence to support his claims.
During the election, Vanama Venkatateswara Rao ran as a candidate for the Congress party and won, while Jalagam lost. However, the High Court ruled in favor of Jalagam, who had the second highest number of votes after the MLA.
