Asha workers set to use smartphones in the near future

The Telangana government will give smartphones to new Asha workers in Hyderabad and cover their phone bills. This was announced by Health Minister T Harish Rao during the launch of Amma Vodi Ambulances, which were flagged off by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at Necklace Roads. Harish Rao mentioned that the average time for ambulances to reach their destination has been reduced from 30 minutes to 15 minutes. They are also working on keeping the ambulances in dynamic positions and increasing the wages of 108 services employees. The Health Minister expressed confidence in the state’s medical sector, stating that they can handle bigger health emergencies than COVID-19. He also highlighted the addition of 466 emergency vehicles, bringing the total to 466 from the initial 316 when Telangana was formed. The average number of people served by Amma Vodi vehicles is 4,000 per day, while 108 vehicles serve 2,000 people. Harish Rao mentioned that CM KCR is implementing a program for 100-bed hospitals in each constituency, with 50,000 beds already available in government hospitals due to one medical college per district. Additionally, four TIMS facilities in different parts of the city are currently being constructed.
