Are BRS leaders considering a move to Congress?

The BRS party in Hyderabad is facing trouble after failing to win any MP seats in the recent Lok Sabha elections. Party leaders are concerned that some sitting MLAs, MLCs, and senior members may leave the party due to this defeat.

With Congress and BJP gaining strength in the state, there is a growing demand to attract BRS leaders to other parties. Some BRS MLAs have already joined the Congress, and there are rumors that more may switch sides to BJP soon. The party’s lack of representation in Lok Sabha is a significant blow after also losing the recent Assembly elections.

Despite winning a majority of seats in Hyderabad’s GHMC limits, the BRS suffered defeats in all four Lok Sabha constituencies in Greater Hyderabad. This loss is demoralizing for the winning MLAs, especially since many party leaders who contested also lost their deposits.

BRS leaders attribute their poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections to the desertion of several sitting MPs at a critical time. MPs like Venkatesh Netakani, G Ranjith Reddy, BB Patil, and P Ramulu left the party to support national parties, leaving BRS vulnerable to more leaders defecting in the future.
