Banking Services to Be Unavailable Temporarily Due to APGVB Division
Residents of Hanamkonda have been informed that banking services provided by the Andhra Pradesh Grameena Vikas Bank (APGVB) will be temporarily unavailable from December 28 to 31. This includes services like cash transactions, UPI, mobile banking, internet banking, and ATMs. The announcement was made by APGVB chairman, K. Pratap Reddy.
Speaking at a press conference at the bank’s head office, Reddy explained that the division of APGVB between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states, as per directives from the government and the Department of Financial Services, will come into effect starting January 1, 2025. This division has necessitated a technical transition, leading to the temporary unavailability of banking services.
To minimize inconvenience for account holders, recommendations from institutions like the State Bank of India (SBI), NABARD, and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) have been considered to provide some flexibility during this period. However, full access to services will remain suspended for the four days.
For emergencies, account holders can withdraw up to Rs 10,000 from their respective mother branches on December 30 and 31. This option will be available across 771 branches of the bank. If there are urgent needs, such as medical expenses, exceeding Rs 10,000, customers are advised to contact their branch manager for assistance.
