Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan, has donated Rs. 1 crore to the Telangana Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help with flood relief efforts.

Pawan Kalyan met Telangana Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy, at his residence on Wednesday. During the meeting, Pawan Kalyan handed over a cheque for Rs. 1 crore to support the people affected by the floods.

Several leaders from the Telangana Jana Sena party joined Pawan Kalyan during the meeting. The two leaders reportedly discussed the positive relationship between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, along with other important issues.

Pawan Kalyan also inquired about the formation of HYDRA in Telangana. In response, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy explained what HYDRA is and how it functions. Pawan Kalyan mentioned that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu, is considering setting up a similar system in Andhra Pradesh.

This meeting occurred after severe floods hit both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana due to heavy rains. Rivers like the Munneru have overflowed, causing major flooding in several areas. In Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada was submerged by the Budameru canal, while in Telangana, Khammam city was severely flooded by the Munneru river. The floods have greatly affected people, especially those living in low-lying areas.

A few days earlier, Pawan Kalyan had also met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu, and made a similar donation for flood relief in his home state.
