The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has predicted severe hailstorms in 56 mandals and hailstorms in 174 mandals in Andhra Pradesh.
According to Ronanki Kurmanath, the Managing Director of APSDMA, severe hailstorms are expected in 64 mandals on April 27, with 56 zones likely to experience severe thunderstorms on April 26.
Districts like Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram, Parvathipuram, Alluri Sitharamaraju, and Anacapalli in East Godavari, including Kakinada, are likely to experience severe hailstorms.
In addition, there is a possibility of hailstorms in Anakapalli, Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Palnadu, Bapatla, Prakasam, Tirupati, Nellore, and Sathyasai mandals.
MD Kurmanath advised people to stay at home from 11 am to 4 pm as much as possible and to use hats, umbrellas, towels, and cotton clothes to avoid sunburn. He also recommended that elderly, pregnant, and lactating women take proper precautions and avoid exposing their ears to hot air. Those with heart diseases, diabetes, and high blood pressure should avoid going out in the sun and refrain from strenuous physical activities.
The weather forecast for the next five days includes very light to light rain at isolated places in various districts of Andhra Pradesh. On April 25, rain is likely in Alluri Sitharama Raju and Anakapalli districts. This pattern continues with similar forecasts for the following days.
